Chitrasiri Committee Report on New Sri Lanka Cricket Constitution

The report prepared by the committee appointed to draft a new constitution for Sri Lanka Cricket has drawn significant attention as discussions continue on reforming the administration of cricket in the country.

The committee, headed by retired Supreme Court judge K. T. Chitrasiri, was tasked with studying the current governance structure of Sri Lanka Cricket and proposing reforms aimed at improving transparency, accountability, and professionalism in the administration of the game. The report proposes several key changes, including the establishment of a restructured Board of Directors, the creation of independent governance committees, and clearer separation between cricket management and administrative functions.

Among the recommendations are reforms to the voting structure of member associations, stronger financial oversight, and the introduction of modern governance practices similar to those used by leading cricket boards around the world.
