USA Records Historic T20 Series Win Over Bangladesh

The USA won their first T20I series against Bangladesh with a 6-run victory in the 2nd T20I. The match was held at the Prairie View Cricket Ground in Houston. Bangladesh won the toss and elected to bowl. The USA posted 144 runs on the board for the loss of 6 wickets. Captain Monank Patel scored 42 runs off 38 balls, while Aaron Jones and Steven Taylor contributed 35 and 31 runs respectively. Rishad Hossain, Shoriful Islam, and Mustafizur Rahman each took 2 wickets for Bangladesh.

In reply, Bangladesh had a strong start with innings from Najmul Hossain Shanto and Towhid Hridoy. By the 13th over, they needed only 46 runs from 44 balls with 7 wickets in hand. However, Shanto was run out by Corey J. Anderson, who also removed Hridoy shortly after. Bangladesh’s last 5 wickets fell for just 14 runs. Experienced campaigners Shakib Al Hasan and Mahmudullah couldn’t withstand the USA bowlers. Ali Khan took 3 wickets and was named Man of the Match. Ruben van Schalkwyk and Saurabh Netravalkar took 2 wickets each.

This is the first-ever T20I series win against a Test nation for the USA. The 3rd and final match will be held tomorrow at 8:30 PM (IST) at the same venue.
