Sri Lanka U19 Team Advances to Super Six Round of U19 World Cup with an 87-Run Victory Against Namibia U19

The Sri Lanka U19 cricket team advanced to the Super Six round of the U19 World Cup with an 87-run victory against Namibia U19 at Diamond Oval in Kimberley.

Namibia won the toss and elected to bowl, successfully limiting Sri Lanka to 133 runs in 37.5 overs. Supun Waduge, who came in for opener Vishen Halambage, scored an unbeaten 56 runs. Van Vuuran took 4 wickets, posing a challenge for the Sri Lankan team.

However, the Sri Lankan bowlers fought back with excellent bowling discipline. Namibia only scored 56 runs in response. Vishwa Lahiru and Ruvishan Perera took 3 wickets each, contributing significantly to the team’s success. Dinura Kalupajana bowled 8 consecutive overs, securing 2 wickets for only 8 runs, including 4 maidens.

For his outstanding performance with the bat, Supun Waduge was named the Man of the Match. With this victory, Sri Lanka has qualified for the Super Six round. They are now set to face Australia in their final group stage match on January 28th at the same venue.
