Cruel Twist of Fate: Jaiswal Misses a Record-Breaking Double Century

Yashasvi Jaiswal faced an unfortunate fate today. The young cricketer, who seemed well on course for his third double century in Test cricket, was dismissed through a run-out. Scoring 175 runs or more, he became the 12th player in the world to miss out on a double century due to a run-out.

Had he completed the double century today, Jaiswal would have become the third-youngest player in history to record three double centuries in Test cricket. As of today, he is 23 years and 282 days old. At a younger age, the legendary Sir Don Bradman recorded six double centuries, while Graeme Smith achieved three.
