Bangladesh Lose to USA

The USA defeated a top 10 Test nation for the first time in cricket history in a T20I match. The loser is none other than our very own Bangladesh. Bangladesh played a 3-match T20I series as preparation for the upcoming T20 World Cup in the USA and West Indies.

The match was held at Prairie View Ground in Houston. This was the first meeting of the two teams in the cricket arena. The USA won the toss and elected to field. Bangladesh scored 153 for 6. Liton Das failed again, only managing 14 off 15 balls. The top scorer was Towhid Hridoy, who scored 58 in just 47 balls, recording his second T20I half-century and also his highest score. Shakib was run out after scoring 6 runs off 12 balls. Mahmudullah got 31 from 22.

Steven Taylor grabbed 2 wickets for only 9 runs in his 3 overs.

In reply, the USA scored 156 for 5 with 3 balls to spare. Corey J Anderson and Harmeet Singh built an unbeaten 52-run partnership for the 6th wicket in just 28 balls. Harmeet Singh scored 33 off 13 balls with 3 sixes and was named Man of the Match.

The USA leads the series 1-0 with this 5 wicket win. The next match will be held on the 23rd of May at the same venue.
